Mrs. Pegg's HandyLine is designed as a modern take on classic air drying. As an alternative to the energy-wasting tumble dryer, the HandyLine is designed as a product capable of drying a full load of washing, including heavy denim while conserving the resources of our environment.
This is a new generation of Mrs. Pegg's HandyLine just in time for the Care to Air Challenge with modern styling yet still an energy saver. Constructed of ultra-strong, but lightweight aluminum, it has s/steel fixtures and an anodized coating for extra durability indoors or out.
The product is foldable and can hold the weight of a load of denim yet slim enough to fit a small deck, balcony, RV, or laundry room.
Constructed of long lasting aluminum, stainless/steel and highly UV rated molded plastic, all components can be recycled.
The lightweight portability allows the product to be used anywhere, and in areas where clotheslines are banned, it can be placed out of sight then easily folded for storage. The HandyLine can be used indoors without energy consumption by dual-purposing energy already in use for home heating. The large unit has 10 lines and will hold four king sheets plus additional items.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but in my view the HandyLine is innovative in that it is portable, won't rust and stain clothes, can be left outside permanently or easily folded for storage. It is not only capable of drying jeans but it will dry a whole washload, including, bath sheets, 4 king sheets on the large line and 4 queen sheets on the small, doonas, quilt covers, woollen underlays etc. Being portable it can be placed anywhere for effective drying and in winter it can be used indoors where household heating can be utilized. How many of the final entries has the versatility of Mrs Peggs and can be used in any home, apartment, caravan, retirement units, cabins, child centres (for not only drying clothes but also paintings), etc? Also being portable, in areas where clotheslines are banned, it can be placed out of site and after washing is dried easily stored away. Also, the HandyLines completely eliminate the use of high energy using tumble dryers. The HandyLine entered in the Challenge is a new model on which 2 Patents have been lodged along with a Registered Design but it just so happens that customers of the current model felt they wanted to comment. The comments from happy customers are only some of the thousands of happy customers who have been purchasing the HandyLines over the last 15 years. The HandyLine is a quality long lasting product which can be used in so many different situations. It's constructed of aluminum, powder-coated for extra durability, is lightweight, but ultra-strong. The current model can be viewed on www.mrspeggs.com PS I am still using a prototype which is 16 years old and still going strong!

I have one similar to this at home and use it all the time. This one looks to be higher, though and more suitable to hang jeans.

I have always hung my clothes outside. A few years ago I moved to a smaller place that did not allow clotheslines. I searched the internet for a solution and found Mrs. Peggs Handyline. It was a lifesaver. I have used it indoors and out on the patio for the last three to four years. I am saving energy and saving my clothes from the dryer. I can store it in a closet. This is a very innovative product!

Well, in response to your question as to "Why is this innovative?" I'm not sure, but I do think it might be called innovative in that "Mrs. Peggs" gives people the chance to relearn the one of the benefits of a simple practice that was common in the past and can be applied to our modern life. The scientific warnings of global climate change are prompting folks to look for ways to reduce their energy demands on the planet. It may not be new, but it can be very effective if enough people will reduce or stop their use of gas or electric dryers.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to comment and vote for "Mrs Peggs". Let's hope that the "Care to Air Challenge" will make an impact on people who use high energy wasting tumble dryers. Our Planet Earth has given us the resources of air and sun, so let's use this energy - it free!!

Living in the tropics all the undercover line that can squeeze into odd places is a bonus. This product is excellent for drying in the wet season.
